Let your cares melt away in East Tyrol

Holidays are for relaxing. And where better to let your thoughts wander than in one of our saunas? Our attractive spa area is the perfect place to de-stress. For pure relaxation, sweat it out in the steam room, enjoy the soothing action of the whirlpool or the deep warming effect of the infrared cabin.

“The important thing is not how much you sweat, but how good you feel”

Be aware of your own bodily sensations and adapt the sauna session to suit your own well‑being. Try to find your own balance between heat and cold, movement and relaxation, conviviality and calm.

Finnish Sauna

The Finnish sauna is probably the most well‑known sauna. For about 1,000 years, the Finns have been taking saunas in rooms made of wood, heated to between 80°C and 100°C. This type of sauna is ideal if you want to work up a proper sweat. The high temperature and low humidity get your blood pumping faster and stimulate the body.

Steam Room

A gentle way to sauna

In our sauna area, you will find three steam rooms. It is up to you to decide whether to use the tangy herbal fragrance or exotic scents. Because of the higher humidity and lower temperature, the steam room is gentle on the circulation and well tolerated by the respiratory tract. You don’t have to worry about not breaking a sweat either: the high humidity in the steam room, which is usually between 80% and 100%, makes the 40–55°C temperatures you experience in the steam room feel almost as hot as the dry 90°C in the Finnish sauna.

Infrared cabine

Infrared radiation is the best means of applying heat to the body – contact-free and without disrupting the skin’s heat regulation. When infrared rays strike the body, they are absorbed by the uppermost layers of the skin and converted to heat, and do not penetrate further into the body. The body increases blood circulation to the skin to cool the skin.

Tepidarium

The tepidarium is a relaxation room, based on the Roman model, equipped with stone heated loungers. The special feature of the tepidarium is its uniform, soothing radiant heat that emanates from the stone walls and floors and from the sitting and reclining areas. The room temperature ranges from 37°C to 39°C and the humidity is a modest 20%. The tepidarium is both gentle and stimulating and ideal for regeneration.

Rose quartz sauna

The rose quartz sauna is a relaxation room that relies on the healing power of rose quartz. Rose quartz is claimed to have various beneficial effects on the body. It is believed to relieve headaches and strengthen the heart and adjacent organs. It is also said to boost the formation of red blood cells and help with diseases of the genitals, thrombosis and phlebitis. The mineral is also claimed to ward off harmful radiation and have a positive effect on the kidneys and nerves.

Whirlpool

Gentle massaging of the body, pleasant warmth and the sensation of floating: relaxing in a whirlpool has many positive effects. Soaking in the whirlpool can lower blood pressure, as the warmth dilates the blood vessels. In addition, the gentle air bubbles cause the vessels to open both on the skin and on the internal organs. The perfect combination of water pressure and heat relaxes your muscles, releases tension and also relieves back pain. Thanks to the jets, which provide buoyancy, you feel like you are floating. This relieves and protects the knees, hips and ankles. The water temperature is between 36°C and 38°C.

Relaxation areas

You can rest and relax after your sauna in our attractively designed relaxation areas:

  • Mountain meadow relaxation room

Close your eyes and smell the sweet scent of freshly cut mountain meadows in the warm sunshine. This is beneficial for your body and especially your respiratory tract. You can enjoy this unique kind of fragrant downtime in our mountain meadow relaxation room.
  • Andreas’ panorama relaxation room

Admire the views of the Carnic Alps from the panorama relaxation room in the sauna area. Watch how the afternoon sun casts the 400-year-old fir trees in a dreamy light and sets the mountain tops in the background aglow. Step outside onto the terrace and breathe in the pure mountain air. Saint Andrew (or Andreas as he is called in Austria) keeps a close watch over this room.
