The Obertilliach-Golzentipp ski resort is a true paradise, especially for families. The two T-bar lifts located on the edge of the village are ideal for beginners venturing onto the snow for the first time. All beginners, whether children or adults, will discover the joy of skiing here and will soon want to head further up the mountain.

Skiing in Obertilliach

Experienced skiers also get their money’s worth here – Obertilliach has slopes of all levels of difficulty. 13 km of excellently groomed slopes ranging from an altitude of 1,430 metres up to 2,250 metres. There is also a superb 10-person gondola from the village up to Conny Alm.

What makes the ski area unique is the abundance of space and the freedom to make big sweeping turns. What about long queues at the lifts? There is no such thing in Obertilliach. All of this ensures a pleasant start to your day on the slopes. Guaranteed skiing fun for everyone.

Both the T-bar lifts and the gondola are within easy walking distance – this means you can leave your car parked up throughout your stay.

With our hero “TILLY” the rabbit, we accompany children as they venture onto the snow for the first time and use our expertise and vast experience to teach them how to ski in a safe and fun environment. Our ski courses are also a great experience for adults. Learn to ski safely using modern techniques while having fun.

Whether you are an amateur athlete or biathlon legend, there are trails to suit everyone in Obertilliach. With around 60 kilometres of ski trails, you really are spoiled for choice. Best of all: you can join the trail directly on the hotel’s doorstep.

On cross-country skiing tours through East Tyrol’s stunning scenery, there is much more to discover: the genuine and hospitable nature of the people and the mouth-watering regional cuisine. Even nature has a few surprises in store.

Because cross-country skiing gives you a full body workout, it is considered to be one of the most efficient sports in terms of the cardiovascular system, respiratory performance, muscle strengthening, improvement of coordination skills and endurance.

Cross-country and biathlon centre

Featuring a World Cup standard, cross-country skiing and biathlon centre and perfectly groomed cross-country trails, Obertilliach has become one of the hot spots of the biathlon scene. Renowned top athletes and national teams take advantage of the excellent snow conditions and cross-country skiing trails around the cross-country and biathlon centre in Obertilliach as early as November. In February/March 2021, the Youth and Junior World Championships in biathlon were held in Obertilliach. Thanks to state-of-the-art snow-making facilities and the snow depot, the ski trails are perfectly groomed throughout the winter.

High-altitude trail

For all cross-country skiers who prefer to be higher up the mountain, a high-altitude trail was added to the ski resort in winter 2015/16. The ski trail starts just a few metres away from the top station of the gondola.

There are quite rare possibilities to enjoy this sport, but here in Obertilliach it has been realized. With the 7 km long tobogganing run from Connyalm down to the valley the skiing resort Golzentipp is popular even among non-skiers. The track is groomed and 12 turns lead to Jausenstation Mitterdorfer in Rals or right back to the cable car. The toboggan can be rented for a small fee at the upper station.

Favourite Place

A small mountain lake at 1,680 metres above sea level is a heavenly location for me at any time of the day or year.

Tyrolean dumplings

There is no doubt that my mum Sabine makes the best dumplings. When she wields the wooden spoon, the finest ingredients are always used.

The night watchman made it his business to allow the people to sleep peacefully at night and kept watch over “fire and light”.

The two-floor Romantic suite is approximately 85 m² and is designed for up to 2 adults and 4 children. It features 2 separate sleeping areas and a fully equipped kitchen.

The special wooden suite with approx. 35 m² is for max. 2 adults and 2 children and disposes of a big sleeping room with double bed, freestanding bathtub and a fully equipped kitchen.
