Cycling in Hochpustertal
The Drau cycle trail, which enjoys world-renown, accompanies you through Hochpustertal from the border area to South Tyrol. Cycling in Hochpustertal can justifiably defined as cycling culture, since there are lots of interesting places, some of which have an ancient history, which line the route. Not forgetting the little village guesthouses which await, providing regional specialities.
Mountain-bikers love the side roads in Hochpustertal in particular. Sweat-inducing, but beautiful. The tours through the Carnic Alps in particular but also in Villgratental are also very popular among hard-core mountain-bikers. For instance, the “Berg-Radel-Weg Villgraten” is a charming way of finding out more about life in this unique valley. This thoroughly demanding circuit course starts and ends in the mountain village of Innervillgraten which lies at 1402 metres; it is around 25 kilometres in length and takes riders up to the Oberstaller Alm at 1883 metres sea level.
The fascination of flying! Even this is possible in Obertilliach. Both paragliding and hang-gliding pilots feel „on cloud nine“. The air space above Obertilliach is perfectly suitable for paragliding since nobody will disturb the flight and there is usually a perfect thermal for paragliding – ideal conditions for hours up in the air. The stunning view over the entire Lesachtal valley makes the hours spin away. On the foot of Golzentipp, only a 15-minutes walk from the upper station, there is a favoured and perfect starting place for this flight adventure.
Conyoning & Rafting
For 25 years the company Fit & Fun organizes outdoor activities in the valley Lesachtal. The offer ranges from daily activities to weekly programs. From “Viking rafting” for the whole family to Conyoning or canyons, there is something for everyone.
